Web 2.0 – What is all the fuss about?   Tue, 22 May 2007

Web 2.0 is currently the hot topic on occupying some of the most dynamic minds in the “New Media” industry. We have seminars, books, blogs, sample sites and even a post graduate diploma, all focused on Web 2.0. But what is Web 2.0 and why is it such a big issue?

Web 2.0 represents what most people see as the future of the internet and many are predicting that it will revolutionise the internet, opening up a new online, interactive world that we could only dream of a few years ago.

When Tim Berners-Lee developed what we now know as the internet, it was intended as a system that allowed static documents to be stored and linked on a common network, the internet. Over the years, innovation grew, with the logical next step being "active" documents that are generated upon request and are based on database information. Active web pages promised a more interactive experience and have certainly helped get the internet where it is today – an integral part of our daily lives.

For almost 10 years now, the IT industry has been hailing mobile email as the “next killer app” after the unexpected success of traditional email. It seemed such as simple thing: marry two huge successes like mobile telephony and email and it we will no longer be bound to an office for our communication.

We all know its been a long time coming but recently things are starting to look brighter. At first it was Blackberry, which proved it could be done but initially lacked the polish that the expectation deserved.

Challow launches Virtual Office Solution for Start Ups !   Wed, 17 Jan 2007

Starting up a new business is tricky enough without having to worry about the increasing emphasis that the modern company places on the IT infrastructure. To compete with established, larger companies, the new enterprise needs access to reliable, flexible systems at a very affordable rate.

Managing these networks also proves challenging as the costs of dedicated IT support staff can be prohibitive to growing your business. Add to this, the drain on capital resources that purchasing hardware and software requires, should be avoided but is always a challenge between functionality and affordability.
