Music for Youth

Music for Youth is a registered charity providing performance opportunities to thousands of young musicians nationwide.

This is achieved by organising a series of 60 Regional Festivals a year, which take place all around the UK; a week-long National Festival at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall, Conservatoire and CBSO Centre during July and three Schools Proms held at the Royal Albert Hall each November.

The Regional Festivals provide free and open access to music making for the maximum number of children regardless of their abilities or performance standards. The National Festival allows young musicians the chance to perform in one of the country’s premiere concert halls and the Schools Proms provide a major national focus for the quality and breadth of music teaching in the UK.

Music for Youth also organises Primary Proms for children between 4-11 yrs, giving inner-city children the chance to experience live music – often for the first time - and to encourage their participation in music making.
