Virtual Disaster Recovery Solution

Challow has developed a unique solution that maximises our technical expertise and knowledge of our client infrastructures by providing a logical and economical solution to Disaster Recovery.

This solution is not only very cost effective but also provides for greater levels of flexibility, scalability and is entirely location independent.

Supplemental Disaster Recovery

This service is ideally suited to larger organisations that already have Disaster Recovery contracts in place with traditional providers. This provides the guaranteed availability of a Technical Consultant onsite at the 3rd party disaster recovery site within two hours to begin re-implementing the network.

Although 3rd Party providers can ensure that the correct type of hardware is available to be configured, they lack the knowledge of the client’s infrastructure to configure the servers correctly. In fact most contracts only ensure that the servers are available and the setup and configuration of the servers is left up to the client.

Challow’s solution provides engineering resource to deal with the shortcomings of these providers. This solution includes a consultation process to ensure that a procedure exists, that all parties are aware of their responsibilities and that 3rd party providers are aware of their responsibilities. A “Black Box” is also provided that contains all procedures, important data, keys, etc.

Should a client’s existing Disaster Recovery solution not include any standby servers, Challow can provide a complete “network-to-go” option to dovetail with the Engineering Resource.

Location Based Disaster Recovery

Challow is able to provide dedicated office space, complete with computers, telephones, printers, etc to clients that require the immediate network access and office space to continue operations. This solution builds on the Virtual Disaster Recovery Solution to provide office space if required.

Real Time Disaster Recovery Solution

Real Time Disaster Recovery builds on the Virtual Disaster Recovery Solution to increase network uptime by implementing online data backup that is replicated real time to a dedicated online backup provider. This eliminates the requirement for backup tapes to be stored offsite.

Although not in operation at the moment, Challow has plans to connect our data centre to the dedicated backup provider network, thereby allowing Challow to replicate the backup provider’s data. This will dramatically speed up the time to recovery as the data will be available to the Virtual Server Network at gigabit speeds.
